3 top tips on what kinds of foods you should eat or avoid for breakfast, and do you really need to eat breakfast.


  1. What should I eat for breakfast?I get asked this question time and time again, it is actually a good question because we have always been told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. However, I never eat an early breakfast because I do intermittent fasting every day and I normally eat within an 8-9 hours window. (ie between 12-8pm) You do not need to eat an early breakfast, it is just habit, most people are used to eating some form of carbohydrate ie cereal, toast etc for breakfast which is actually not the right way if you want more energy and want to get leaner.
  2. Breakfast Recommendations-Regardless of what time you break your fast, I would recommend having a meal with sufficient protein, high fat and some fibre. Ie Bacon and eggs with some leafy green veg, steak with avocado and greens, eggs ie an omelette, nuts are a great source of fats also so include them occasionally. Eating a meal high in fat/fibre will kickstart your metabolism and give you much more sustained energy.
  3. Nutrients rule-Remember the key thing is, seek out wholefoods and nutrients as opposed to just mindlessly eating a bowl of processed cereal, bread etc out of habit, most of the things we think are good for us are actually not ideal for our health, unfortunately, we have been brainwashed by the media, TV commercials etc into eating sugary foods because it benefits their pockets. Health is wealth so just be mindful!
